About Us

Administration

Sifundzani is fortunate to have in its leadership a dedicated team of Educators. The current head of school is Mrs Ella Magongo and her deputy Mrs Anna Simelane.

The present chairman of the School Board is Mr Hamilton Curtis and Mr John Henwood as his deputy. Every 3 years a new team of Governors is elected by parents of the school. This committee consists of 6 elected committee members, 3 co-opted ones and 1 US State Department. The school Board is tasked to support the academic administration and to help oversee policies, fees and the general running of the school.

In addition, Sifundzani parents elect a team of parents who form our PTA. This committee is an integral part of the school, it is hands on, fundraise and support the administration. Over the years, PTA has helped to raise funds for the construction and improvement of our sporting facilities, running into thousands of Emalangenis.

Achievements to Date

Established in 1981, by a group of expat and local personalities including the founding Headmistress, Mrs Mary Fraser, MBE Major projects completed include:

  • The construction and opening of the High School in 1996
  • Information and Communication Technology Centre
  • Refurbishment and modernisation of the Media Centre
  • Tennis and Cricket courts
  • A 25m swimming pool, which has been used to host our swimming galas and Zone 6 games in 2010
Future Outlook

As we look to the future, there is much that we would like to achieve to ensure that Sifundzani continues to make its distinctive and special educational provision. This involves new ideas and new initiatives, all designed to provide a strong academic and Christian environment where young people can continue to receive first-class, all-round education; where closer relationships can be built and fostered with Old Sifundzanians, parents and friends; and where the profile and visibility of the School can be raised even further both nationally and internationally.
